OVERVIEW:

The Client is an Australian-based creative production business specializing in brand storytelling, advertising content, and social media video production for businesses and organizations. Operating under Momentum Media Productions, the business focuses on producing high-quality, story-driven visual content with a strong emphasis on creativity, initiative, and attention to detail.

This role is responsible for independently managing the full post-production process for a variety of video projects, including brand commercials, case studies, and social media content. The position requires a highly creative and proactive editor who can interpret briefs, craft compelling narratives, and deliver polished final outputs with minimal oversight. The role is best suited for someone who enjoys behind-the-scenes creative work, structured workflows, and independent execution.

Requirements

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Video Editing & Post-Production

• Edit video projects end-to-end using Adobe Premiere Pro

• Produce brand, advertising, case study, and social media content for Australian businesses and organisations

• Review and interpret creative briefs to understand project messaging, tone, and direction

• Independently make creative decisions regarding story structure, pacing, music selection, and edit flow

• Identify strong moments within interviews and b-roll footage to create compelling narratives

• Deliver high-quality edits with minimal revisions required

Project & Media Management

• Organize footage, assets, and project files according to the company’s post-production workflow system

• Manage project timelines and ensure deadlines are consistently met

• Maintain structured project organization and efficient editing workflows

• Occasionally take over and continue projects already in progress

Creative Contribution

• Contribute creative ideas and editing approaches that improve overall project quality

• Collaborate directly with the business owner regarding feedback, timelines, and creative direction

• Apply storytelling principles and creative judgment to elevate final outputs

Photography Post-Production (Preferred)

• Edit photography stills using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop when required

APPLICATIONS & PLATFORMS:

• Adobe Premiere Pro (essential)

• Adobe After Effects (basic motion graphics & animation preferred)

• Adobe Lightroom

• Adobe Photoshop

• Google Workspace / File Management Systems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience as an independent Video Editor, preferably within brand advertising or commercial content

• Strong storytelling ability with an understanding of pacing, tone, and narrative structure

• Strong technical editing skills and efficient workflow management

• Ability to interpret creative briefs and execute projects independently

• High attention to detail and strong project organization skills

• Highly proactive, self-directed, and confident in creative decision-making

• Strong communication skills and professional collaboration abilities

• Reliable, thoughtful, and thorough in completing tasks

• Able to receive feedback constructively while contributing creative input confidently

• Heavy reliance on templates without storytelling understanding is considered a red flag

• Heavy reliance on guidance for creative decisions is not suitable for this role

Additional Information

TYPE OF POSITION, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

• Part-Time Position

• Work From Home Setup

• Base schedule of 15 hours per week

• Preferred schedule: 3 x 5-hour workdays (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday preferred but flexible)

• Opportunity for additional hours during busy periods (up to 20–25 hours per week maximum)

• Laptop / Desktop capable of handling video editing software efficiently

• Stable internet connection required

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
