The Job Description

Fidelity TalentSource is recruiting a Sr. Software Engineer to work in the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT). This role is located in Jersey City, NJ or Smithfield, RI or Merrimack, NH. The purpose of this role is to be part of innovative projects that rapidly move ideas from concept to market, utilizing emerging technologies and human-centered design to create products and services that improve people’s financial lives. The FCAT serves as the innovation engine for Fidelity Investments, providing expertise and incubating potential new lines of business.

Requirements

The Expertise You Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Strong development skills with 5+ years of software development experience in NodeJS
• Able to learn and adopt new technologies quickly and effectively
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience
• Experience in rapidly developing large-scale distributed enterprise applications
• Able to resolve and understand complex technical/design issues
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented

The Skills You Bring

• Experience with Microservices architecture and strong API design skills
• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and Typescript in NodeJS
• Development of large scale NodeJS, Express applications
• Experience with Mongoose, Casbin, and Axios libraries is a plus
• Ability to build reusable NodeJS modules and manage dependencies with NPM
• API-first approach to product development
• Experience with event-driven applications using Kafka or other messaging platforms
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3 and EC2
• Comfort using container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB
• Knowledge of system and application design and architecture patterns
• Experience using source control for feature-driven development in Bitbucket/Stash
• Strong Object-Oriented skills in system design and microservice architecture
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins & Artifactory
• Experience working in an Agile development environment

Compensation

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $80.00 – $102.00 per hour. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities, scope, geographic location, relevant experience, and other factors.
