Job Description

We’re looking for a creative, energetic videographer and editor to document and produce engaging lifestyle vlogs and social content for a growing personal brand. You’ll shadow the creator two days per week, capturing authentic day-in-the-life footage, and then independently edit that footage into polished YouTube vlogs and short-form social clips. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in unscripted environments, has a strong editorial eye, and understands what makes content perform on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

Responsibilities

On-Location Shooting (2 Days/Week)

• Follow and film the creator during scheduled shoot days in a handheld, fly-on-the-wall documentary style.
• Operate camera equipment (own or provided) to capture high-quality footage in varied lighting and environments.
• Capture b-roll, reaction moments, and candid interactions that enhance the story.
• Coordinate loosely with the creator on planned moments while staying ready for spontaneous content.
• Manage memory cards, batteries, and on-site equipment setup/breakdown.

Post-Production & Editing (Remote)

• Edit raw footage into 10–15 minute YouTube vlogs with a cohesive narrative arc.
• Create short-form cuts (Reels, TikToks) from the same footage where applicable.
• Handle color grading, audio cleanup, music selection (royalty-free), captions, and graphics.
• Incorporate brand-consistent intro/outro and any title card templates provided.
• Deliver a polished draft for creator review before any publishing.
• Incorporate feedback and deliver final exports in required formats.

Communication & Workflow

• Respond to messages within 24 hours on business days.
• Meet agreed-upon delivery timelines per vlog.
• Flag any footage issues, equipment needs, or concerns promptly.
• Attend brief weekly or bi-weekly check-in calls as needed.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Videography and video editing experience (portfolio or reel required).
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Capcut, or equivalent editing software.
• Experience editing for YouTube (pacing, retention, thumbnails a plus).
• Comfortable with handheld, run-and-gun style shooting.
• Reliable, professional, and discreet — this role involves personal and potentially sensitive content.
• Able to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to starting work.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with short-form social content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts).
• Own camera kit (mirrorless or DSLR, lav mic, gimbal).
• Understanding of content creator ecosystems and audience engagement.
• Based in Phoenix, LA or able to travel to shoot locations.

Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Compensation is flexible and open to discussion based on experience and structure preference. Ranges to expect: $600.00 - $800.00 per week.
