Job Description

Software Engineers oversee software development projects, write optimised code, and provide technical leadership. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

Working Arrangements

The Department is located in Canberra. It is preferred that the successful candidate work from the office with flexible arrangements. If offsite is agreed to, a period of 6 - 8 weeks of initial onboarding in the office would be required.

Maximum Hours

• 38 hours per week

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Write well-designed, maintainable and testable code and integrate software components into an existing, fully functional software system.
• Contribute to the development and ongoing support of existing solutions using Agile development methods.
• Collaborate with team members and provide ad hoc advice, research, and proof of concept work on architecture, components, and integration.
• Participate in code quality assurance processes, such as unit testing and peer reviews for accuracy and functionality.
• Design, implement, and test software components to meet user and system requirements.
• Assist with continuous product and process improvement by identifying technological and systems deficiencies and recommending process, procedures, and method improvements.

Technical Skills

• Must hold a current AGSVA security clearance, Baseline minimum.
• Demonstrated experience in full-stack development in C# / .NET Core.
• Demonstrated experience with OData RESTful API architecture.
• Demonstrated experience with Angular / Bootstrap / Typescript (specify version of Angular in your CV/response).
• Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated experience with tests using .NET XUnit, Typescript Karma/Jasmine, and .NET driving Selenium.

Essential Criteria

• Technical skills - score from mandatory online test (40%)
• Technical skills - Demonstrated experience in full-stack development in C# / .NET Core with OData RESTful API architecture (20%)
• Technical skills - Demonstrated experience with Angular / Bootstrap / Typescript / HTML / CSS and JavaScript (20%)
• Technical skills - Demonstrated experience with tests using .NET XUnit, Typescript Karma/Jasmine, and .NET driving Selenium (10%)
• Communication skills (10%)
