Short-Form Video Editor Wanted for Long-Term Music Project

Hi! I’m a singer, songwriter, and artist based in Portugal, currently developing an original music project with international ambitions.

I’m looking for a creative short-form video editor who wants to get involved from the project’s early stages and help build the visual identity surrounding the music.

At this stage, this isn’t a traditional freelance editing role. I want to be transparent: there isn’t a large budget right now. I’m not looking for someone interested only in small, paid editing gigs. I’m looking for someone creative, serious, and ambitious—someone eager to help build something meaningful over time.

The project focuses on original music, cinematic visuals, storytelling, social media growth, and—eventually—live performances. The goal is to create short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts that conveys emotion, features a cinematic aesthetic, and feels authentic and recognizable.

I already have someone helping locally in Portugal with filming and video production. For this role, I’m looking for someone focused on editing, post-production, storytelling, rhythm, typography, pacing, color, atmosphere, and visual identity.

The ideal collaborator should enjoy:

• working with music, emotion, and rhythm
• building a consistent visual language over time
• proposing creative ideas rather than just following instructions
• experimenting with formats, hooks, captions, and storytelling
• helping transform raw footage and music into memorable content

This is an early-stage collaboration. As the project grows, the goal is to create regular paid work, stronger opportunities, and a long-term creative role within the project.

I’m inspired by artists who build strong visual universes around their music, but the goal isn’t to copy anyone. I want to build something original, consistent, and emotionally powerful.

I speak fluent French, very good Portuguese, and my English is improving. To me, communication, trust, creativity, and consistency matter more than perfect language skills. If you’re just looking for a quick, paid freelance gig, this might not be the right project.
