Job Description
The client in the energy sector is seeking a Marketing Assistant to provide effective coordination and administrative support for marketing, public relations, and communications activities. The role involves assisting in campaign implementation, managing digital content updates, supporting public relations initiatives, and facilitating internal communications to enhance brand visibility and contribute to organizational marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of marketing campaigns, promotions, and activations by coordinating timelines, materials, and suppliers.
- Manage social media and digital platforms, including content scheduling, agency coordination, and performance tracking.
- Assist with public relations activities, media requests, and internal communications, including maintaining media coverage records.
- Coordinate the production of the quarterly company magazine, ensuring smooth execution with designers and printers.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and internal policies, maintaining accurate documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct market research activities, including competitor analysis and campaign effectiveness tracking.
- Support event planning for company activations, exhibitions, and stakeholder engagements.
- Assist in preparing marketing reports and performance summaries for management.
- Maintain and update marketing databases, contact lists, and asset libraries.
- Support internal communication initiatives to keep employees informed of campaigns and corporate announcements.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging marketing tools for continuous improvement.
- Provide administrative support to the marketing team, including preparing briefing materials and coordinating meetings.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, or a related role.
- Experience in supporting marketing campaigns, including coordination with agencies and internal teams.
- Relevant certifications in Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, or Public Relations are an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of social media management and digital marketing tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms.
- Exposure to digital marketing activities, including content scheduling and engagement reporting.
- Understanding of brand guidelines and compliance requirements like ISO and HSSEQ.
- MUST have attained KCSE B+ and above.
- MUST have attained a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with a Second Upper Class.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong accounting principles and procedures knowledge.
- Proficiency in report writing.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
