Job Description

This is a remote position with a UK-based software development agency, which has been operating for 10 years and primarily serves clients in the UK manufacturing sector. You will become part of a small, senior team working directly with the agency lead. The role does not involve direct client interaction, as all communication with clients is handled by the agency. However, you should be able to articulate technical ideas clearly and transform business requirements into engineering solutions confidently. The agency values curiosity, engineering taste, and an AI-first mindset more than years of experience or academic credentials. The role starts as a 2+ month contract but has strong potential to convert into a long-term engagement based on your performance.

Requirements

• AI-native mindset: Actively experiment with and integrate AI tools into your daily development workflow (non-negotiable).
• Ability to transform business requirements into technical solutions: Think in terms of problems, not just code.
• Strong internal communication skills: Describe complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Engineering taste: Prioritize clean code, good architectural instincts, and know when to build or refrain from building.
• Experience with Python and Django in production.
• Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript using React, Node.js, and Next.js in production.
• Fast learner with genuine curiosity: Valued more than a lengthy CV.
