Job Description

We’re hiring an experienced and creative short-form video editor for our company’s Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts. This is not an entry-level role unless your talent is outstanding. We’re looking for someone who can create fast-paced, highly detailed content in a cinematic style. You’ll be editing content for an audience of thousands of viewers, where high quality and high impact are of the utmost importance.

Responsibilities

• Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms.
• Transform raw footage into clear, detailed, high-retention content.
• Create strong hooks, pacing, captions, sound design, visual effects, and content overlays.
• Manage all highly-detailed overlays and understand the logical placement of overlays like journal articles, research articles, news posts, and other descriptors. Be able to research and source non-generic content overlays.
• Create 2D and 3D motion graphics when needed.
• Organize project files, exports, and revisions efficiently.
• Communicate clearly with your supervisor and meet deadlines.
• Remain up-to-date on the latest editing trends.
• Potentially contribute to long-form documentary editing.
• BE CREATIVE. NO AI SLOP.

Requirements

• Proven experience editing advanced, high-quality, short-form creator content.
• Strong portfolio featuring short-form content that garnered high engagement.
• Proficiency in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Capcut, and Canva, among other editing tools.
• Passion for cinematic visual storytelling and creative video editing.

An applicant without a digital portfolio that includes short-form video content or highly detailed long-form documentary-style content will not be considered. Exclusively AI-edited videos should not be included in your portfolio. Experience limited to weddings, gaming, talking-head, or corporate content is insufficient. We want someone truly creative!
Compensation

Pay: $17-23 per hour, depending on experience, speed, and quality.
