As a Creative Concept Artist & Illustrator, you will collaborate on live entertainment concepts using visual storytelling through illustration, fine art, and graphic design. This dynamic art team has created spectacular visual storytelling for some of the world’s greatest characters and their worlds.

This is a Casual Temporary role with fluctuating hours based on business needs, reporting to the Manager-Art Studio.

What You Will Do

• Demonstrate excellent visual storytelling skills using various methods including quick sketching, storyboards, mood boards, character sketches, and digital painting.
• Work independently on assigned projects requiring minimal direction.
• Collaborate with internal partners such as Art Directors, Show Directors, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Marketing.
• Support design efforts for non-entertainment partners across The Walt Disney Company.
• Build and develop relationships with clients, vendors, and other supporting departments.
• Work on projects of all scales, from intimate to spectacular.
• Provide feedback on the labor required to complete projects.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry focused on show development and operation.
• Outstanding ability and skill in hand drawing and sketching.
• Excellent command of various art styles, from line art to full illustration.
• Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Outstanding knowledge of Disney characters and brand-appropriate artwork.
• Proven dedication to staying current with industry trends.
• Willingness to work flexible hours - including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Modeling experience in 3D design tools.
• Proven experience in animation and character design.
• Proficiency in other languages is a plus.

Education

• College degree or equivalent experience in Theater Arts, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or Graphic Arts with a focus on live show entertainment.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $49,800.00-$66,720.00 per year based on a 24-hour work week, with hours scheduled varying according to business needs. The actual base pay will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses and/or long-term incentive units, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
