I am creating a short, 2D animated, biography on the famous footballer Pele's lifeUrgent

We are Interesting People (on YouTube), a new YouTube channel focused on comedic and simple retellings of the lives of famous individuals, using straightforward 2D animation and dry humor. For our first video, we want to create a roughly 6-minute animated biography about the life of Pele, the renowned footballer. The script and storyboards will be provided, and the style should be comparable to channels like Oversimplified, combining creative storytelling and humor. For this project, we require a 2D animator who is comfortable animating for YouTube, able to follow direction, but also willing to make helpful suggestions. Additionally, we need a voiceover artist who can deliver a dry narrative style, with the ability to land subtle jokes. The aim is to create engaging, entertaining content, and we are open to ongoing collaboration with the right freelancer. The ideal candidate should understand our comedic approach and be ready to work with us to bring this vision to life.

Pele was born on the 23 of October 1940, to parents João Nascimento and Celeste Nascimento. While you might know him as Pele, his actual name is Edson Nascimento, with Edson adopting the name after being bullied about his mispronunciation of the soccer player Bilé’s name by his classmates in school, getting into fights with them over them calling him Pele, but after a while Pele decided to stick with the name. Pele faced many obstacles growing up, one of these was poverty, with Pele’s family sometimes barley being able to afford food, Pele at only the age of 6 would have to make money for his family by shining shoes.
From a young age Pele’s dedication to football was never in doubt, not having a ball to play with Pele would resort to using rolled up socks, newspaper, and a grapefruit as a football. At age 11 Pele joined his first youth team, the coach of the team Waldemar de Brito was a former international player for Brazil, he was so confident in Pele’s ability that 4 years later he brought Pele down to the Santos FC training ground and told them to sign him. And they did just that. Waldemar goes down in history as maybe the first person to recognise the talent Pele showed. In his first season playing for Santos Pele finished as the top goal scorer in the league, this culminated in a national team call up, Pele’s first game for Brazil ended in a loss to Argentina, with Pele scoring Brazil’s only goal, becoming the youngest ever goal scorer for the Brazil national team a record still not beaten. Pele’s performances for club and now country set him up perfectly for the 1958 World Cup. His nation Brazil had experienced years of heartbreak in the world cup, seaming to always fall at the last hurdle. With Pele only 17 years old at the time having the entire nations weigh put on his shoulders to bring the world cup home for Brazil. Sadly Pele couldn’t make an immediate impact getting injured in the first game, and being forced to miss the next 2 after the injury. In his first match back against Wales a must win for Brazil, Pele did just that scoring the only goal of the game. In the next game against France in the Semi Finals Brazil won 5-2, with Pele scoring 3 of the goals. Brazil only had one game to go now, and who would this game be against well only the generational star-studded team of Sweden, with Brazil coming in as complete underdogs things didn’t look good for them. The day of the match arrived and in a complete shock to the world Brazil won 5-2, with Pele scoring 2 of the goals driving his nation home to their first ever world cup victory. Pele winning the World Cup at only 17 years of age and while being arguably Brazil’s most important player made him famous around the world and adored by the his country of Brazil.
Pele would go onto win 2 more World Cups with Brazil, remaining the only player to have ever won 3. Pele’s club career lasted from 1956 to 1974 where played only for Santos FC. Pele played 1,367 matches, scoring 1,283 goals. Winning 10 São Paulo Championships, 6 Brazilian League titles, and 2 Copa Libertadores. In 1975 only a year after retiring, Pele was facing problems financially and was even at risk of bankruptcy, so when the New York Cosmos offered him a very lucrative contract to play in America for them, saying he jumped at the opportunity would be an understatement. {Pele speaking} “I want to help grow the game in America.” (shows him then rolling around in money) {Pele speaking} “I love America.” Pele would play 3 seasons for the New York Cosmos, till he decided to officially hang up his boots and retire for real this time.
After he retired Pele would go on to be FIFA’s ambassador, UNICEF’s goodwill ambassador, and Brazil’s minister of sports. Outside of work Pele would spend a lot of time with his family, and could even be seen attending Brazil’s matches. Pele later on in his life would suffer problems with his hips, kidney’s, and in 2021 was diagnosed with colon cancer.
On the 29th of December 2022, at age 82, Pele passed away due to his before mentioned colon cancer, in São Paulo Brazil, with family and loved ones surrounding him. Pele is still recognised as possibly being the best ever football player, with his impact on the game and his country of Brazil still being recognised.
