Job Description

This is a remote position. We are looking for a talented and reliable video editor to join our team long-term and help create engaging videos for our Personal Finance and Investing YouTube channel. This is an ongoing opportunity with the potential for bonuses, increased pay, and additional responsibilities based on the quality of your work, reliability, and overall channel performance.

Requirements

• Edit 2–3 videos per week.
• Each video will be approximately 8–12 minutes long.
• Initial package: 12 videos for $360 (Rate: $30 per video).
• Long-term work available for the right editor.
• Bonuses and pay increases may be offered based on performance.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for turning the script and voice-over into an engaging, high-quality video. This includes:

• Gathering relevant stock footage, images, screenshots, and other visual materials.
• Adding clear and professional captions.
• Using sound effects and background music where appropriate.
• Creating smooth transitions and visual effects.
• Using motion graphics, charts, graphs, and text animations.
• Maintaining strong pacing to keep viewers engaged.
• Following the overall style and quality of our reference channels.
• Delivering videos on schedule.

Editing Style and Required Methods

To succeed in this role, you must be highly proficient in faceless documentary-style editing techniques commonly used in the personal finance and investing space. You will be expected to use the following methods:

• Motion Graphics and Visual Storytelling: Bring financial concepts to life with engaging motion graphics and visual storytelling techniques.
• Parallax and 2.5D Effects: Comfortably animate static images while maintaining visual interest.
• Immersive Sound Design: Use carefully selected sound effects and background music to enhance the viewer’s experience.
• High-Retention Pacing: Create videos that hold viewers’ attention with dynamic captions and frequent visual changes.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal editor should:

• Have experience editing faceless YouTube videos.
• Understand storytelling, pacing, and audience retention.
• Be familiar with finance, investing, or documentary-style content.
• Be able to find relevant visuals and supporting materials independently.
• Be skilled in motion graphics, sound design, and image animation.
• Have strong attention to detail.
• Communicate clearly and meet deadlines.
• Be open to feedback and revisions.
• Be interested in building a long-term working relationship.
