Job Description

You Can Be Both is a podcast and online community aimed at LGBTQ+ people of faith. We focus on conversations that navigate the intersection of sexuality, gender, spirituality, and healing from harmful church experiences. As we grow, we seek a part-time video editor to help edit our weekly podcast episodes and create engaging short-form content for social media platforms.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to transform raw video and audio files into polished episodes with a quick turnaround. The role also involves generating short-form videos for channels like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

This is a flexible position requiring approximately 2–4 hours per week, varying by episode length and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Edit approximately one podcast episode per week (around one hour in length)
• Work with raw video and audio files provided by the team
• Synchronize, trim, and clean up video and audio
• Remove errors, technical issues, and unnecessary interruptions
• Add podcast branding, graphics, and other recurring assets
• Export the completed long-form episode using specified settings
• Upload each episode to Opus Clips
• Generate approximately 7–15 short-form clips per episode
• Review and edit Opus-generated clips for accuracy and clarity
• Ensure social media clips start with strong, engaging moments
• Deliver files in an organized and timely manner
• Communicate promptly on any issues or questions
• Meet weekly turnaround deadlines

Requirements

• Basic to intermediate experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software
• Experience editing podcasts, interviews, or long-form content
• Quick editing skills without compromising quality
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to identify meaningful moments in conversations
• Familiarity with vertical content editing for social media
• Ability to correct AI-generated captions and edits
• Reliable communication skills and commitment to deadlines
• Comfort working independently
• Respect for LGBTQ+ identities and experiences

A passion for LGBTQ+ advocacy or faith-based inclusion is preferred, but we are open to applicants who share respect for our mission and seek consistent part-time work.

Time Commitment

• Approximately 2–4 hours per week
• Usually one full podcast episode and accompanying short-form clips
• A consistent schedule with quick turnaround is required

Compensation

Starting rate is approximately $100 per completed episode and its accompanying social media clips, which includes editing the full-length episode and preparing 7–15 short clips. Opportunities for compensation increases will be available as the podcast grows.
