Job Description

We are Doonails, a fast-growing beauty startup rethinking the world of manicure with innovative products and a strong community. We are looking for a freelance video editor who specializes in performance and UGC ads. Your role will involve turning scripts into engaging hooks for Meta and assisting in launching TikTok Shop natively in the US and DE.

Your Role & Impact

As a Freelance Video Editor for Performance & UGC Ads, you will manage the entire editing process from raw footage to upload-ready ads. Your hooks will aim to stop the scroll and directly influence our testing volume, improve our thumb-stop and hold rates, and contribute to the launch of TikTok Shop.

Your Core Responsibilities

• Editing:
• You will edit 1-3 scripts per project, creating hooks and bodies primarily using voice-over, with around 2-4 projects per week.
• Localization:
• You will create US and DE subtitles and voice-over for nearly every project.
• Clean versions:
• You will export one clean version per project, free from badges or text.
• Asset management:
• You will select footage and introduce new material to prevent visual repetition.
• Compliance:
• You will name the final ads according to the Doonails naming table.
• Workflow:
• You will manage the workflow using ClickUp, Notion, and Frame, involving two feedback loops until upload.
• Proactive input:
• You will contribute your own ideas to enhance creativity and performance.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• Proven track record:
• Experience editing performance/UGC ads for Meta, and ideally TikTok. Familiarity with voice-over and subtitle workflows, particularly in multi-market contexts (US + DE).
• Tools:
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere and experienced with CapCut.
• Hooks:
• A keen eye for creating thumb-stopping hooks and delivering high creative variation.
• Ownership:
• You possess an independent and proactive working style, bringing your own performance ideas, and efficiently using existing footage.
• Communication:
• Strong English skills are essential (for US content), and German is a plus.
