Job Description

THE WAY HOME PRODUCTIONS is a faith-based video and content studio located in Ellicott City, Maryland. We specialize in helping brands convey their stories through film, video, and content that connects with audiences. We are looking for a performance-driven Short-Form Video Editor to edit short-form videos for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. The ideal candidate should possess skills to create strong hooks, structure compelling stories, and maintain viewer engagement beyond flashy effects.

Requirements

• Proven experience in editing short-form social media content, demonstrating measurable results in increasing views, reach, watch time, engagement, or followers.
• Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, storytelling, viewer retention, and current social media trends.
• Good creative judgment in using B-roll, captions, graphics, music, sound effects, and pattern interrupts.
• Ability to produce clean, accurate, and easy-to-read captions.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, reliable internet, and capability to work remotely.
• Ability to meet deadlines, accept feedback positively, and implement revisions consistently.

Additional Information

Editing Software: Familiarity with editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve is required, with DaVinci Resolve experience preferred but not essential.

• **Bonus Points:**Long-form editing experience, including repurposing podcasts, interviews, and YouTube videos into short-form content.
• Editing experience in wellness, healthcare, fitness, business, podcasts, or personal brands.
• Skills in motion graphics, animation, or AI-assisted editing.
• Understanding of social media analytics and retention metrics.
• Experience helping a brand or creator scale its social media presence.

The Basics

• Freelance and remote position.
• Pay: USD $300 to $500 per month for editing 10 reels, with the final rate dependent on experience, portfolio quality, and editing complexity.
• Opportunity to take on more videos and increase earnings as workload grows.
• Potential performance incentives based on video views, reach, and overall results.
• Selected applicants may be asked to complete a paid trial edit.
