About the client
We are a newly established music-led events company preparing to deliver an upcoming Afrobeats-focused event on 12th December in London. We are looking for an experienced Event Marketing Lead to work with us on a part-time, freelance/contract basis to help build awareness, grow our audience and ultimately drive ticket sales. The role will be focused on developing and executing the event marketing strategy, including campaign planning, audience targeting, social media strategy, paid digital advertising, influencer and community outreach, promotional partnerships, ticket-sales campaigns and ongoing performance optimisation. We are particularly interested in someone who understands Afrobeats, nightlife, music, youth culture and culturally-led events, ideally with experience marketing ticketed events to UK-based African and diaspora audiences. An existing network of relevant influencers, creators, promoters, media platforms or cultural communities would be highly valuable. As a newly established company, we are looking for someone who can bring relevant experience, ideas and structure to the campaign and take ownership of the key marketing workstreams. However, this is not a full-time role. As Founder, I will remain actively involved in the strategy, creative direction and decision-making. The workload will be flexible throughout the campaign period but is expected to increase as we approach the event, particularly during the ticket-launch period and final weeks before the event. We are looking for someone who is commercially minded and understands that the primary objective is not simply engagement or follower growth, but converting attention into ticket sales. The ideal candidate should be comfortable reviewing campaign performance, ticket-sales data and paid-media results and adjusting the strategy accordingly.
