Job Description

The Marketer will promote the company’s construction and building materials, generate new business opportunities, engage with customers, and support the expansion of the company’s market presence and customer base.

The role will focus on marketing ceramic tiles, engineered stone, wrought-iron products, paint, and other related building materials. Key responsibilities include:

• Promoting products to potential and existing customers through field marketing, networking, referrals, and customer outreach.
• Identifying new business opportunities and generating qualified leads.
• Building and maintaining relationships with customers, contractors, developers, architects, interior designers, retailers, and other industry stakeholders.
• Understanding customer needs and providing suitable product information and recommendations.
• Following up on enquiries and leads and supporting their conversion into sales.
• Conducting market research on customer preferences, market trends, competitors, and business opportunities.
• Supporting product launches, exhibitions, trade events, and promotional campaigns.
• Maintaining an up-to-date database of customers, prospects, leads, and opportunities.
• Preparing reports on marketing activities, customer visits, leads, and market opportunities.
• Working closely with the sales team to convert marketing leads into business.
• Performing other marketing and business development duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant marketing experience.
• Experience in construction and building materials marketing is preferred.
• Experience marketing ceramic tiles, engineered stone, paint, wrought-iron products, or similar materials is an advantage.
• Good understanding of the construction and building materials market in Kenya.
• Proven ability to generate leads and develop new customer relationships.
• Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, networking, and customer relationship management skills.
• Strong business development, market research, and competitor analysis abilities.
• Self-motivated, proactive, target-oriented, and customer-focused.
• Ability to work independently and conduct field marketing activities.
• Strong follow-up, reporting, and organisational skills.
