Job Description

Frida is seeking a freelance Paid Social – Performance Video Editor to create high-performing short-form video ads for Meta and TikTok. The role focuses on transforming raw footage, user-generated content (UGC), product footage, scripts, voiceovers, and creative briefs into engaging, conversion-focused ads.

The ideal candidate understands that effective performance creative must stop the scroll, hold attention, communicate product benefits quickly, and drive action. This is an ongoing freelance opportunity for someone who can work independently, apply strong creative judgment, and iterate based on performance insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit short-form paid social advertisements for Meta and TikTok.
• Create UGC-style, creator-led, product demonstration, testimonial, and benefit-focused ads.
• Convert raw footage, scripts, voiceovers, and briefs into polished, ready-to-test advertisements.
• Develop variations of successful ads for continued creative testing.
• Experiment with hooks, openings, pacing, captions, visuals, structures, and calls to action.
• Use b-roll, on-screen text, motion graphics, sound design, and pattern interrupts to improve retention.
• Adapt creative based on performance feedback and testing results.
• Create platform-native ads that feel organic while remaining focused on conversion.
• Support additional creative projects as business priorities evolve.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience editing direct-response, e-commerce, or performance-focused advertising content.
• Strong understanding of what makes paid social creative effective.
• Ability to develop compelling hooks within the first one to three seconds of an ad.
• Strong instincts for pacing, retention, watch time, and audience engagement.
• Experience using visual pattern interrupts, captions, graphics, b-roll, and on-screen text.
• Ability to make content feel native to Meta and TikTok.
• Ability to communicate product benefits clearly and build credibility, desire, and social proof.
• Understanding of editing for conversion rather than aesthetics alone.
• Experience with creative testing, iteration, and performance-led optimization.
• Ability to simplify, cut, reorder, or restructure footage to strengthen an advertisement.

Preferred Experience

• Meta/Facebook and TikTok advertising creative.
• Paid social and performance marketing.
• E-commerce or direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands.
• UGC and short-form social video advertising.
• Direct-response advertising.
• Creative testing and iteration.
• Proficiency with Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing tools.
• Experience using AI tools in an editing workflow is a plus.

Working Arrangements

• Fully remote freelance role.
• Some availability is required during Eastern Time business hours, approximately 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.
