Job Description
Ignite Media is seeking an expert Lead YouTube Editor for the Matt Batista YouTube channel. This senior, hands-on role is suited to an established professional with a strong portfolio of polished, long-form YouTube content.
The editor will own the post-production process from outline through final delivery, including editing, storytelling, motion graphics, visual effects, image work, music selection, sound design, color correction, quality control, and final exports using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Deliver approximately one 20–40-minute video per week while maintaining high creative and technical standards.
- Edit comedic investigative projects with strong narrative structure, pacing, tone, and comedic timing.
- Collaborate with the team to refine outlines before creating rough cuts.
- Shape voiceover, interviews, talking heads, B-roll, graphics, and other source material into cohesive stories.
- Create and integrate motion graphics, visual effects, compositing, and supporting visual assets.
- Select and edit music, develop sound design, clean dialogue, and deliver balanced audio.
- Identify and resolve issues with story structure, clarity, pacing, and tone.
- Manage project organization, shared media, and workflows across Adobe applications.
- Take ownership of feedback, revisions, finishing, quality control, and final delivery.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience independently delivering high-quality, long-form YouTube videos.
- Exceptional storytelling and narrative writing skills demonstrated through completed work.
- At least five years of professional experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, with expert knowledge of complex timelines, media management, audio workflows, and final delivery.
- Advanced professional proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop, including motion graphics, compositing, visual effects, and custom visual assets.
- Extensive experience editing comedy, including precise timing, setups and payoffs, and visual or editorial commentary.
- Proven ability to integrate voiceover and talking-head footage into compelling long-form narratives.
- Strong music editing, sound design, dialogue cleanup, and audio mixing skills.
- Experience managing large Premiere projects, shared media, and dependable workflows across Adobe applications.
- Ability to independently diagnose creative problems and develop effective solutions.
- Strong project ownership, deadline management, and responsiveness to feedback.
- Applicants must demonstrate these capabilities through relevant professional work. Software familiarity or short-form-only experience is insufficient.
- Must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States. The Northeast/New England region is strongly preferred.
Employment Structure
- The engagement begins with an initial paid period to assess working fit and project execution.
- The scope, duration, and structure of any ongoing engagement will be determined based on performance, mutual fit, and production needs.
- The role is primarily remote, with occasional in-person collaboration in Connecticut.
Application Information
Applicants should submit:
- A resume detailing relevant professional editing experience.
- Two to three completed long-form YouTube videos demonstrating storytelling, comedic editing, and technical quality, ideally in the 20–40-minute format.
- A brief explanation of responsibilities for each project, including narrative structure, editing, motion graphics, visual effects, and audio work.
- A clear description of which portions were completed personally and which were handled by other editors or specialists.
Applications must include relevant long-form portfolio examples and clearly explain the applicant’s individual contribution. Reels and short clips may supplement an application but do not replace completed long-form videos.
