Job Description

Departure is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and organized Graphic Designer or Freelance Graphic Designer to develop graphics and concepts for apparel and lifestyle products targeting Female Millennials and Gen Z.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in vintage-inspired artwork, typography, visual storytelling, and emerging trends. They will translate brand direction and creative ideas into distinctive designs that support Departure’s visual identity and connect with its target market.

• Create original graphics and concepts aligned with Departure’s brand, trends, and business objectives.
• Develop illustrations, typography, and layouts for graphic tees, sweatshirts, hats, prints, and other brand projects.
• Interpret design briefs, incorporate feedback, and take designs from initial concept through final production.
• Research vintage artwork, cultural influences, and emerging trends to inspire new collections.
• Present concepts, collaborate with team members, and refine designs based on project goals.
• Manage multiple assignments, maintain organized files, and meet project deadlines.
• Explore new techniques and creative approaches to keep the brand’s visual identity fresh.

Requirements

• At least three years of graphic design experience, preferably in fashion, apparel, or lifestyle.
• A strong portfolio featuring original artwork, apparel graphics, and typography.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of color, composition, detail, and print production, including how designs translate onto apparel.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute original creative perspectives.
• Must be based in the Los Angeles area.

Compensation and Work Details

• Pay: $200–$1,000 per month.
• Flexible project-based or weekly payment structure, depending on agreement.
• Flexible schedule.
• Work location: Remote.
