My name is Rye Randa. I am an American music producer, songwriter and tv/film composer. I first began singing, recording and performing at the age of 14. At 18 I began writing and producing, and at 24 I won First Prize (Pop) out of more than 33,000 entries from over 50 countries in the 2000 USA Songwriting Competition. The winning song “Overground” was subsequently recorded by the legendary pop trio Three Dog Night and included on their 2004 release “Three Dog Night: 35th Anniversary Hits Collection” which features the Grammy-Winning London Symphony Orchestra. I continued working with Three Dog Night as a producer and mix engineer on their cover of the Jude Cole hit “Heart of Blues” which was released in 2009.
In 2006 I joined forces with guitarist and songwriter Jeff Foxworth of the band Weekend Excursion to form the dynamic producing-songwriting-composing duo known as The Ontic.
Now, with decades of professional experience, I have written, produced, arranged and mixed hundreds of songs, cues and score which have been featured on major television networks including NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, HBO, NETFLIX, USA, TNT, DISCOVERY, ESPN, GSN, HISTORY and many more. I have also written, cowritten and produced an extensive catalogue of Pop and Rock songs, with artists such as Michael Johns, Brooke White, Theo James, Bonnie Somerville, Bruce Greenwood, Rossif Sutherland, Rachel G. Fox, Terron Brooks, Debbie Hennessey and Katelyn Tarver, which have been featured on shows such as FOX’s The Resident, ABC’s The Connor’s, CW’s Vampire Diaries, USA Network’s Necessary Roughness, and TNT’s Dallas, to name a few.
Recent composing credits include the critically acclaimed documentary feature Jiro Dreams of Sushi, the theme for CBS’s pro football league The Alliance of American Football (AAF), TV series The Moment (USA), and West Texas Investors Club (CNBC).
