    uniE621 Our Story: Riverbend's 40th Anniversary
OUR STORY: 40 Years of Grace was a campaign that I created for Riverbend Church to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The entire project operated on a significantly tight timeline — two months from concept to completion. I started by working with the leaders of the event to create a compreshensive list of all the collateral we would need to create on a tight timeline. As they nailed down the plans for the event, I started comping initial logo ideas. Once the logo was selected, the real work began. A significant part of this project was combing through 40 years of photographs. Scanning, organizing, printing, to help create a cohesive experience that told the story of the church across each piece of collateral. What isn’t pictured on this page, was three, large (4’x8′) boards that we covered every square inch with photographs. Those boards were used as photo backdrops during a selfie scavenger hunt that ran during the event. I helped design, and art direct, the stickers that were created for the selfie scavenger hunt. When a person completed a task on the hunt, they received a physical sticker. Completing the hunt and gaining all five stickers rewarded participants with a branded water bottle and t-shirt. The scavenger hunt, from concept, to day of execution as under my direction. I also illustrated a playful theme-park style map of Riverbend’s campus to help congregants navigate the festivities. The maps also helped folks find the swag stations that we set up, so that they could grab free pairs of branded sunglasses and Riverbend car-window stickers. Several thousand visitors attended the event. You can see more details from this project on my personal website: tylyntaylor.com](https://www.twine.net/signin
    uniE621 Austin Blessings Co-op Branding
This was a particularly fun and challenging logo and design direction project. The missions department of Riverbend Church approached me with an idea for a new ministry organization that would reach outside the walls of the church, and serve as a catalyst inside the community to mobilize other churches, faith communities, local volunteer organizations, and business to engage in serving the vulnerable communities in Austin. Initially, they were calling the organization Riverbend Urban Ministries. No one on the team loved the title they had, and they were looking for something that would speak to the spirit of comrade and cooperation that they aspired to achieve with this new opportunity. One thing the director of the project new was that he wanted the word “blessing” to be in the title and that the logo needed to contain a heart and an olive branch. After several rounds of throwing names around, I landed on the idea calling the organization a Co-op as it spoke to the heart of what they were targeting — not ownership of a caring for others, but an invitation to partner with others caring for others. The director loved this idea and the Austin Blessings Co-op was born. The logo presented some challenges, but we decided to attempt fitting the skyline of Austin, and the aforementioned olive branch, inside a heart. I liked the idea of using strong, solid lines to anchor the imagery of the logo — which was softer in its imagery — because it gave the logo a more modern look that would transfer universally well across multiple media (signs, shirts, stickers, etc.). With the primary logo created, we moved on creating logos for the other partner organizations inside the co-op. With each logo, we tried to keep a cohesive look and feel by maintaining the line weight, level of detail, and most importantly, the heart. While other designers ultimately carried out the collateral for the brand under my direction (website, t-shirts, printed collateral, etc), the primary logo designs were created by me.
