Hello! I am Gabe Clarke, an award winning animator from North London. I have an active eye for detail and a positive perfectionism towards my animation, with a particular passion for timing and the composition of movement. During 5 years of animation study and practice in higher education, I developed a rich understanding of the animation principles while directly engaging in both group and personal projects - strengthening me into a highly skilled and versatile animator. In the 2 years since, I have worked as a freelance animator/artist developing projects from script to screen. This means (although I specialise in the animation side of things) I consistently contribute to all stages of production including storyboarding, editing, music, and sound design. Finally, but most importantly, I am a warm and considerate person. Very eager to support, learn from, and build relationships with my colleagues/collaborators.

paper The Circle of Light (2023) - RCA Grad Film

The Circle of Light was awarded Best Animation at the Coventry Pheonix Film Festival 2024, shortlisted for Best Local Short film and Best Short Animation at FishEye Film Festival 2024; and screened at Sunrise Film Festival, Cardiff Animation Nights, Happy Valley Animation Festival (USA), and Southport International Film Festival.

The film is a multimedia animation involving paper cut-out and digital hand drawn animation. On the surface, it responds to my personal experiences with agoraphobia as well as a new found fascination with crowds and communities and all the contradictions they embody.
