My artistic research originates from the idea of outer form and mask. I investigate how the body and appearance can transform, assuming different roles, and choosing who to be. Through painting, artistic printmaking, textiles, collage, and ready-made, with an often ironic language, I explore the circus-like and artificial dimension that permeates everyday life: layers of makeup, accessories, conscious camouflage. The body becomes unstable, mutable, and continually reconstituted. It is both a form of protection and a form of freedom: change is essential to avoid being trapped in a single definition of oneself. People seem to become puppets and bodies take on unconventional forms. For this reason, my imagination often includes toys, dolls, puppets, and marionettes. They are objects that imitate reality, reassuring figures yet devoid of will. Memory as a central theme has become a core thread of my research. Identity is constantly changing, and the personal archive becomes a tool to recognise and understand these transformations. The Mirage is a series of satirical collages that explore the social construction of gendered identity.
