Hi, I’m Martin Laniel. I’m a composer, arranger and music director based in Montreal, Canada, with over 20 years creating music for film, television, theatre, Cirque du Soleil, and other movement-driven productions. I studied jazz piano at Vanier College and expanded into computer-assisted sound design, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in music at the Université de Montréal. I’ve built a career crafting engaging arrangements across styles, working as a music editor and arranger for TV and film, and collaborating with Cirque du Soleil on acrobatic and theatrical numbers. I love how music can carry messages through emotion and movement, and I constantly aim to bring written music to life with expressive orchestration and performance. My work spans live theatre orchestration, film and TV editing, and large-scale contemporary productions in cities around the world. I’m guided by the relationship between music and movement, and I’m dedicated to reaching my highest potential on every project by delivering thoughtful, dynamic scores and arrangements that support storytelling.
