Hi, I’m Martin Laniel. I’m a composer, arranger and music director based in Montreal, Canada, with over 20 years creating music for film, television, theatre, Cirque du Soleil, and other movement-driven productions. I studied jazz piano at Vanier College and expanded into computer-assisted sound design, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in music at the Université de Montréal. I’ve built a career crafting engaging arrangements across styles, working as a music editor and arranger for TV and film, and collaborating with Cirque du Soleil on acrobatic and theatrical numbers. I love how music can carry messages through emotion and movement, and I constantly aim to bring written music to life with expressive orchestration and performance. My work spans live theatre orchestration, film and TV editing, and large-scale contemporary productions in cities around the world.
