Hello! I’m an illustrator who loves bringing stories to life through both traditional watercolor and digital techniques. I graduated from art school. I worked as a layout and web designer for eight years. Along the way, I also studied watercolor to refine my artistic skills. Following my maternity leave, I felt inspired to pursue my true calling — children’s illustration. Since then, I’ve illustrated several children’s books. My first commissioned project was Wisdom Tales from Gita for Children. I also illustrated three stories about the adventures of four children in the Wild Roots Series. In addition, I worked on It’s Not Because of Me, a gentle story about a little lion girl. I create my illustrations using either traditional watercolor or digital tools, depending on the project’s needs.     uniE621 Illustrations for Children’s Book Project - "It's not because of me" by Ryn MacDonald
    For this project, I created illustrations for ten spreads and one cover. The book includes six double-page spreads, four full-page illustrations, and five spot illustrations. I began by designing the three main characters - Lucy, a little lion, and her parents. Then I developed the storyboard, followed by rough color sketches and final line art. After that, I completed the full-color illustrations, and finally, the cover artwork using the same process. This project was especially meaningful to me, as it explores the emotions children experience when their parents are going through a divorce. I hope this book offers comfort and support to young readers facing similar situations. The main characters are based on the author’s own children, and my goal was to capture not only their likeness but also their unique spirit and personality.     This book is a collection of 20 stories set in the jungle of Lalavan, where eight friends reside. The stories, while each unique, subtly convey deep life lessons. They are written for children ages 8 to 12. My role was to create individual illustrations of each character and make three illustrations for every story. Additionally, I drew 17 illustrations for the first five stories to help promote the book on social media. All illustrations were made using traditional watercolor technique.
