Hi! My name is Zoelle Pierce. I am a sound designer and audio engineer who recently graduated from the University of Southern California with a BFA in Sound Design. I have always been passionate about storytelling, and I believe that sound plays an especially important role in that. Collaborating with directors, performers, and fellow creatives to breathe life into story-driven projects is where I do my best work. Over the course of my education, I have had the opportunity to design, assist, and engineer multiple theatrical productions; most recently, I designed Legally Blonde The Musical and Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters. I’ve also worked on educational audio drama, film, and music recording/production projects, which have allowed me to stretch my skills across a variety of mediums. I currently work as an Events A/V Technician at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, where I support screenings and special events. I previously worked as a sound technician and studio engineer for the USC School of Dramatic Arts, maintaining sound systems, engineering recording sessions, and supporting productions across multiple theaters. What makes me stand out is my willingness to rework my ideas in service of the story. While I trust my creative instincts and approach to storytelling, I understand that the first idea isn't always the right one. I view every iteration as a valuable part of the creative process. Whether an idea makes it into the final product or not, it helps shape the next one and brings me closer to the strongest fit. I enjoy collaborating, experimenting, and refining my work until it best serves the story being told.
