A mural/graffiti project for The Blue Bermondsey BID in Southwark, London.
The area belonged to the monks of Bermondsey Abbey which was founded in the eleventh century and was the equal of Westminster. Given the trend for continuity in ancient times the site of the ‘Blew Anchor’ would have previously been a location of religious significance, providing a place of solace for travelers along the route that is now Southwark Park road.
The colour Blue is sacred in many religious traditions and it is especially sacred to Christianity as the colour of the Virgin Mary, who is predominantly depicted wearing Blue
The dove /pigeon with the blue reflections captivates through the contrasting colours of the feathers that reminds us beyond the natural occurrence, about the tools emerging into the medium of computer programming that could eventually define our genetic development, psychic and spiritual status.

"The Empire of Candour"
“The Empire of Candour” was born out of the desire to be a part of this delicate and candid world of pigeons. This metaphor mirrors human society through the eyes and personalities of these wonderful pigeons. Being drawn into this fantasy world, the story gradually unfolds as the viewer relates to each character, generating within us the understanding that when the world is hurt and broken, salvation always comes through Love and Candour.
The work is made in oil on linen, in a realistic way, and still using a graphic technique translated by me in painting. The influence of the early years in graphics led me to a pictorial manner using the brush as a graphic tool in painting. The linen canvas made in Italy by Leonardesca with its extra fine grain gave me the perfect environment for this painting.

A cornucopian display draws up a fantasy scene from a “Paradise Wonderland”, where birds and insects play the role of all the characters up in the spiral of their society. This work continues the series of bird portraits following different iconic identities resembling superstars of our culture. Boxes with sweet temptations for some and fulfillments for others, rulers and servants, the king with mistresses and followers, and those who dare to dream of freedom and rise above the illusion of their society.
