When The World Stopped (Children's Book Illustration)

This is a book I’ve Illustrated as a University project during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. The intention of the project was to capture and point out some of the simple and beautiful things that also came to the surface in a time of collective struggle.

The style is very much an illustrative exploration and experimentation of different mediums that I wanted to integrate as a whole to communicate the feel of the book. This includes a blend of acrylic and watercolor paintings, ink drawings, digital scans of real plants, as well as cutouts of my own photography (as seen in the mountains and some of the textures). The illustrations are paired with a simple text written by myself as well.
