Hotel St Cloud: Breathing New Life into One of Colorado's Historic Gems
Project Overview: The iconic Hotel St Cloud, nestled in Cañon City, Colorado, has been a symbol of hospitality for over a century. After its acquisition for $80,000 in 2018, our team embarked on an ambitious journey to transform this 132-year-old landmark into a luxury destination with two in-house restaurants and a speakeasy. The goal was to honor the hotel's storied past while embracing a vibrant future.
Brand Development: We delved into the rich history of Hotel St Cloud, unearthing captivating tales from its bygone days. From the daring exploits of actor Tom Mix to the film production house, Selig Polyscope Company, the hotel's legacy is woven with colorful characters and events.
Storytelling through Design: Every element, from post cards to suite names, was designed to evoke the hotel's fascinating history. The logo, inspired by an archival invoice, showcases one of the hotel's many historical logos.
Color Palette: The color palette reflects the interior design of the hotel. Gold and rust symbolize light reflecting off polished wood, sage comes from the velvet sofas in the lobby, deep navy represents the wall color throughout the lower floors and suites, and cream provides a base reminiscent of light pouring through the lobby's floor-to-ceiling windows.
Expanded Brand Package: We expanded the brand package to include a seal, brand icon, and horizontal iterations of the mark. The seal drew inspiration from historical Cañon City seals, while the brand icon was derived from decorative details found in period poster design.
Messaging and Tone: Inspired by the owners' parent company's mission to "restore people and places," our messaging aimed to make guests feel like they were meeting an old friend. The tone evokes refined wonder and luxury while remaining personal and inviting.
Historical Photography: Historical photography was incorporated throughout the physical space and the brand itself, guiding guests through the hotel's journey over time. Archival photography acts as a core design element, adding texture and richness to the brand.
Typography: The typography reflects a mix of antique and modern. A vintage-inspired serif is paired with clean sans serif body type, communicating elegance inspired by the past while remaining fresh for modern audiences.
Project Goals: Our ultimate goal was to position Hotel St Cloud as the "living room of Cañon City," where the past and present converge. Through our creative direction, we have successfully captured the essence of Hotel St Cloud, ensuring its legacy endures for generations to come.…Project Overview: The iconic Hotel St Cloud, nestled in Cañon City, Colorado, has been a symbol of hospitality for over a century. Chipotle Goods Pop-Up
For their 2022 All Managers’ Conference, Chipotle’s ask was to create a pop-up store to showcase their line of Chipotle Goods apparel in a space that matched the feel of both the Chipotle brand and the clothing. With 3,500 shoppers to accommodate in just a day and a half, we had a lot to tackle.
Starting with sketching and mood boarding, we collaborated with our fabrication partner DesignIt to determine the layout and look of the space. In choosing materials, we reviewed the interior design of Chipotle’s restaurants and took into consideration how that could translate to a retail space; ultimately we selected light woods, natural stone, and sleek black metal to echo their aesthetic, elevating the look with the addition of marble and accent lighting. We then crafted custom displays, counters, shelving, and racks to deliver the high-end retail experience Chipotle envisioned. To top it off, we curated contemporary furniture, touches of greenery, and playful decor, to create an inviting, dynamic shopping experience that left a lasting impression with shoppers.

Capture Co Branding
Capture Co’s primary ask was to create a brand that truly reflects their distinctive photography style. In addition, they wanted to incorporate the "Co" into their main mark and create a simple abstraction of a camera. Our vision for the Capture Co brand was then shaped by three core principles: the contrast of high fashion styling against rugged settings, the spontaneity and candid nature of street photography, and the consistent use of high-contrast palettes.
Starting with the logo, we drew inspiration from the form of modern instant cameras, particularly the Fujifilm Instax Square, known for its mix of squared and rounded edges. By distilling the camera down to its basic shapes, and then breaking them apart, we crafted the brand’s "Co" using the negative space in the mark. For the color palette, we sought a simple, high-contrast scheme that wouldn’t compete with the photographs. We opted for a light green and a dark gray to elevate and modernize a simple black and white palette. The addition of a grainy gradient further enhanced the contrast and added depth to the overall look.
Ultimately the branding of Capture Co blends the high-fashion, raw essence of their photography with a simple, sophisticated aesthetic. The thoughtful interplay of sleek vector shapes and grainy gradients, coupled with a distinct logo design, creates a compelling visual identity that is both contemporary and evocative. This approach ensures that Capture Co stands out in the photography industry, resonating with an audience that appreciates both style and substance.

Chipotle Pop-Up Shoe Store
When Chipotle asked us to create a custom non-slip sneaker for their biannual All Managers' Conference, we knew a simple release wouldn't be enough. After collaborating with their events team, it was clear that these world-class General Managers deserved more—a standout experience that matched their level of excellence.
We dreamed up a pop-up store that would do just that. The store's striking, bright white interior and semi-opaque muslin walls made the black sneaker the star of the space. Attendees were greeted by a large-scale LED wall flanked by two towering art installations, providing ideal photo backdrops for this selfie-loving group. Each GM was then treated to a personalized try-on session, ensuring their new kicks fit just right, and sent off with a full swag bag of goodies to match.
But we didn't stop there. Just when the day seemed to be winding down, the space transformed. The muslin walls parted, revealing a fully functional stage to showcase The Chainsmokers, ready to deliver a surprise performance in our impromptu night club space.
This pop-up wasn’t just about hyping up a shoe—it was about creating an unforgettable, exclusive experience that truly engaged Chipotle’s top performers. It highlighted the limited-release sneaker while reinforcing Chipotle’s deep appreciation for their team through tailored, thoughtful engagement.
