Patti O'Ryan began playing the piano at the tender age of 3. In his mom's words, he started with "baby chords", on his grandfather's piano. By age 4 he knocked out melodies by Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond. Blue Rondo a Le Turk and Take Five were two favourites. By age 6, he was taking lessons with Prof. Lamar Crowsen and Paul Rommelare at the U.C.T School of Music. By the age of 10, his repertoire allowed him to entertain people such as the Mayor of Cape Town, Kobus Meiring and Mohammed Ali. As a teen, he performed at the Cae Town Jazzathon at the V&A and started playing with top local musicians such as Robbie Jansen, Alvin and Errol Dyers, Danny Butler and Tony Schilder. Recently he's started singing, composing, and working with local recording Engineers, Ghalik Jacobs, at Littleriver Studios, Murray Anderson at Milestone Records, as well as writing for other artists and producers such as Carsten Lehn at Dreambox Studio. Musical influences are among the likes of Seal, John Mayer, Michael Franks, Incognito, Miles Davis, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Motown Hits, Lighthouse Family, Simply Red, Craig David, D'Angelo and Staind ; to name a few! He's also teamed up with The Ears 'n Eyes (5 piece), becoming a resident band at O'Kenndy's pub & Grill, Quay Four and Ferrymans V&A, where they perform all genres of music including he's originals. He's also a resident solo entertainer at Freedon Coffe Shop Diep Rivier.
