I am Hope Alysia Davis, a music educator and performer with a Ph.D. in Vocal/Choral and Orchestral Music Education. For over two decades I have built and led college music programs, directed choirs, and served as a church musician, teaching across online and in-person formats at Imperial Valley College and SDSU Imperial Valley. I love mentoring students, developing new courses like Mariachi Ensemble and Introduction to Contemporary Songwriting, and guiding emerging artists toward their creative and professional goals. Outside the classroom, I pursue ethnomusicology research, compose original works, and engage with community music initiatives. My work balances scholarship, performance, and service, from organizing community concerts to sustaining music programs that make the arts accessible to diverse communities.
