Hello, I'm Kirsten. I'm a freelance illustrator specializing in children's books. I live in a tiny town in Northern California, surrounded by farmland and mountains. Getting stopped by cows crossing the highway, and seeing chickens wandering the neighborhood are common occurrences! I make playful, whimsical art, full of expressive characters and a touch of magic. My illustrations almost always include animals, and rural settings are my specialty, though I'm comfortable with urban environments as well. I typically blend traditional and digital media in my creative process. I rely on the natural texture of watercolors, ink, charcoal, gouache, and colored pencil to add interest and depth to my illustrations, with the use of digital techniques allowing for easy adjustments and edits. My freelance experience includes creating artwork for websites, coloring and activity pages, and homeschool curriculum, as well as illustrating children's picture books. Samples of my work are available on my portfolio site at _Website not available. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_ .
