Freelance Designer in Chicago, IL, USA

We are seeking a talented, hardworking Freelance Designer to join our team in Chicago. We believe that every creative project represents an opportunity to build a brand. Whether big (an interactive experience) or small (a social post), we need a designer who consistently delivers exciting, cutting-edge, brand-focused designs for various digital projects.

Responsibilities:

• Creating digital design solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives
• Designing user-centric interface solutions
• Designing website concepts, interactive experiences, social content/infographics and new business presentation concepts
• Contributing to internal marketing design needs
• Translating creative direction from VP of Design into executed designs
• Balancing creative requirements with client business requirements
• Presenting creative work to both internal teams and clients
• Building and maintaining rapport with creative team personnel, account managers and project managers
• Being a leader on the design front by keeping up to date with visual, digital and interactive design trends and implementing them into client projects
• Attending and contributing to creative brainstorming sessions
• Providing quality assurance on creative deliverables

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional digital design experience in an advertising, interactive agency or similar role
• Strong design portfolio
• Bachelors Degree in Design
• Developed and diverse communication skills
• Ability to articulate creative ideas behind designs
• Ability to work with and meet demanding deadlines
• Expertise with Adobe CC including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Understanding of how designs best translate to html/css and mobile experiences including responsive web design functionality
• Ability to take initiative with assignments and independently find answers needed to proceed with an assignment
• Illustration skills a plus, though not required
• Print design experience a plus, though not required
