A group of working professionals are making a short film called A Protean.
ABOUT:
A Protean is about someones inner monologue through a benign social situation.
The consequences of over analysing and over thinking.
It explores the pitfalls of anxiety and the damage it creates that the victim so desperately tries to prevent.
ROLES:
Various.
Age - 23 - 33.
NARRATOR:
Our protagonist. Well intentioned, analytical, likable and reflective. However, his over-focus on himself and desire for gratification paradoxically leads him to social isolation and obsession. We see this manifest at the end of the script as his memories recorded on a camcorder so he can labor over and over the minutiae of his failures. His general attitude throughout bounces from Humorous to reflective to frustrated.
SIDNEY:
Our antagonist. Seemingly the most enamouring and popular in any room. They are the antithesis of the NARRATOR. He speaks without thinking, is effortless, cool, loud and obnoxious. Doesn’t care for the small details.
MILOU:
Girlfriend of the NARRATOR. Fun, energetic, goofy and oozes positivity and caring. MILOU and the NARRATOR compliment each other. They have a strong connection and trust one another and although they are very different, she sees the good qualities in him.
PAYMENT: Negotiable
SHOOT: 10th /11th of December in Berlin.
