Virgin Media: Senior Interaction Design Manager (FTC - 12 Months)

UI Designer is needed in Slough, United Kingdom.

This position reports to the Head of Digital Design and is largely responsible for communicating with users and explaining how an application will function. To accomplish this, you will need to generate inventive solutions to problems that examine and appraise user, business, and technical objectives and requirements.

Tasks:

• Responsible for all elements of design, from identifying customer requirements to delivering concepts and prototypes to UI specs for development.
• Directly collaborate with stakeholders to create end-to-end experiences utilising participatory and iterative design methods, including user testing, usability studies, customer interviews, and other types of qualitative and quantitative research to generate insights and understand user behaviour.
• To provide the best experiences for users, use the whole spectrum of design techniques, such as sketching, experience mapping, wireframing, prototyping, leading workshops, sharing user insights with larger stakeholders, working with other designers, etc.
• Create personas, storyboards, scenarios, user-flow diagrams, wireframes, design prototypes, and design parameters based on user requirements and specifications.
• Utilizing participative and iterative design methods, such as observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other methods of requirement discovery, create and describe user interfaces and information architecture.
• User interface design experience with consumer applications, preferably mobile devices, rich web apps/websites, and interactive TV in the media, telecoms, and broadband industries.
• Investigate innovative tools, strategies, and procedures to proactively enhance the way the design team operates.

Experience:

• Minimum of four years’ experience building digital and mobile/touch experiences for sophisticated interactive apps
• Extensive knowledge in design software, including but not limited to Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Zepplin, Invision, Axure, etc.
• Knowing how to quickly animate and create highly interactive prototypes using prototyping tools and software
• Vast knowledge of, and experience using, the User Centered Design techniques
• Skilled in site navigation, architecture, interface and interaction design, and has strong typographic abilities
• Knowledge of accessibility and cutting-edge web technology
• A clear understanding of user behaviour online (on desktops, mobile devices, and tablets), as well as best practises and current thinking in this field
• A history of increasing sales and service KPIs through improved interface design and increased uptake of goods and services.
