About the Role
The Jr. Visual/UI Designer at Magneti will play a vital role in our energetic Creative team. This position is responsible for building out user interfaces and thinking through user interactions for a diverse clientele, driving audience engagement and action.
Candidates should be skilled creators with a knack for crafting visual stories that resonate with target audiences. The right person for this role will demonstrate an adeptness for conversion-focused design that inspires action. With a deep understanding of client pain points and a growing understanding of design interfaces within digital marketing, a Jr. Visual/UI Designer will add value to campaign strategy through compelling creative production and a results-oriented approach.
Compelling design work will not just tell stories, but will also motivate, persuade, and convert - driving tangible outcomes and enhancing client satisfaction. We’re seeking a creative, results-oriented individual with an ability to craft designs that both connect on a human level and drive business results, ready to contribute to and grow with our team.
Responsibilities and Duties
Jr. Visual/UI Designers at Magneti thrive within the following three buckets of responsibility:
- Production Excellence – The best Jr. Visual/UI Designers at Magneti possess a growing knowledge of and passion for design, UI/UX, and all things creative. They love bringing ideas to life visually, know the tools to use, and enjoy implementing all the little tips and tricks to make your realized ideas smooth and efficient. The right candidate for this role will love making things look, sound, and feel beautiful using digital production tools. They will be passionate about and skilled at producing high-quality visual designs (including basic assets and wireframes/mockups), from concept to execution, including those for desktop, web, and mobile devices at a variety of resolutions. Specifically, he/she/they possess:
- Creativity: You value and operate with outside-the-box thinking to come up with innovative design solutions. You have a keen eye for aesthetics and the ability to create visually appealing and engaging user interfaces.
- Strong visual design skills: A UI designer should possess a solid foundation in visual design principles, including color theory, typography, layout, informational hierarchies, and composition. You should be able to create harmonious and visually balanced interfaces that effectively communicate information.
- Obsessive attention to detail: You ensure consistent spacing, proper alignment, and pixel-perfect precision in your work, as evidenced in all of your production work.
- Deep knowledge of usability principles: You are familiar with concepts such as information architecture, navigation design, interaction design, and responsive design. You are always considering how you can create interfaces that are easy to navigate and interact with across different devices.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn: The field of UI design is continuously evolving, with new trends, technologies, and tools emerging. - Deep empathy and user advocacy: As an excellent UI designer, you empathize with users and advocate for their needs. You put yourself in the users’ shoes to understand their motivations, frustrations, and goals. This empathy drives you to create designs that truly address user needs and provide a delightful experience.
- Problem-solving skills: UI designers are problem solvers. As such, you analyze user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to find creative solutions. You are adept at translating complex requirements into intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that meet the needs of both users and clients.
- A growing understanding of the relationship between design and marketing: You understand how design can make marketing work, making ideas instantly grabbable, value unmistakable, and (Call to Actions) CTAs unmissable.
- Team Integration – Designers will be brought into nearly every client at Magneti, will work with lots of teammates, and will be flexible and focused on making their teammates and clients look like rockstars. Specifically, the most successful designers at Magneti demonstrate:
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills: The person in this role will frequently work in cross-functional teams, collaborating with UX designers, developers, stakeholders, and a variety of other team members. Qualifications
- Excellent design skills, as evidenced by a personal portfolio submission
- 2+ years of UI design experience
- 1+ years of graphic design experience
- Growing knowledge of digital marketing
- Bonus: Digital marketing agency experience
