A growing, dynamic Visual Communications Company (Orbus Visual Communications) seeks a Freelance Video Editor

Orbus specializes in creative manufacturing and printing for the Tradeshow, Live Events, Retail and Interiors sectors. On top of our comprehensive library of marketing & product videos, Orbus has built a dynamic training system to assist our internal employees across North America. Video modules are being created to supplement the training system and will require a video editor to turn raw footage into a complete & polished video chapter for each topic. This is a freelance contract position with potential opportunity to expand into a larger role in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing raw footage and pulling selects and soundbites
• Following a script or outline
• Edit video content to meet project requirements, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and visually appealing videos
• Take notes & transcribe audio for organizational purposes
• Collaborate closely with our Lead Videographer and other team members to understand project goals, objectives, and vision
• Report to and incorporate feedback from team members to achieve the desired final product
• Select and combine the most effective shots of footage to form a logical and smoothly running story
• Edit footage to insert music, dialogue, and sound effects, to arrange into sequences, and to correct errors, using editing software
• Determine the specific audio and visual effects and music necessary to complete videos
• Meet project deadlines and deliver completed work in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of editing styles and projects
• Expert at working with DSLR camera footage & codecs
• Knowledge and proficiency working in video editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects
• Ability to conduct recorded interviews/testimonials
• Creative problem solving and asset management skills
• Proficiency in basic color correction within FCPX, Premiere Pro or Davinci-Resolve
• Knowledge and proficiency working in PC and or/ Macintosh platforms & Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Light Room & Acrobat Pro
• Proficiency in the Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
