Job Description:

We are seeking a freelance designer to work on a short-term project with us. We are open to designers from a range of creative industries/mediums/techniques but particularly those with experience designing logos, symbols or emblems and seamless repeat patterns. The successful candidate will be creative, meticulous and an excellent communicator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Artist Nicola Green and the studio team following directions and briefs.
• Create original, conceptually strong, and visually striking designs/logos/illustrations/patterns under Nicola’s direction.
• Develop a consistent style that suits the project.
• Use various illustration techniques, tools, and software to produce digital and/or traditional designs.
• Meet project deadlines ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained.
• Incorporate feedback to refine and improve designs.

Requirements:

• Willing to work in-person in North London studio.
• Minimum 2 years experience in similar roles.
• At least 2 references from previous employers/clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Illustration, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a range of styles and techniques.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt to different project requirements and styles.
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for composition and colour.
• Knowledge of the history of design, textiles and patterns is a plus.
