Job Description

Second Story is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our Development Team on a part-time basis (20 hours per week), working remotely in the Washington, D.C.-metro region. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for visually reflecting the organization’s brand and mission through digital and print executions. They will also have motion graphics skills and the ability to design and update the website as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce high-impact digital and print products
• Reflect Second Story’s branding guidelines and graphic design standards
• Collaborate with the Development Team to understand project goals and create design concepts
• Create an Annual Report, branded PowerPoint template, and other projects
• Edit existing marketing materials or create new ones
• Oversee digital and print projects from conception to delivery
• Work closely with the Development Team to design materials for the annual fundraiser
• Design and layout graphics and text on webpages
• Develop and maintain webpages and other website support
• Organize and share Second Story’s digital assets
• Other duties as assigned

Skill Expectations/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in graphic design or related field preferred
• Strong professional portfolio
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to collaborate
• Appreciation for nonprofit work environment
• Motion graphic experience preferred
• Experience with HTML/CSS, WordPress, and Constant Contact preferred

• Job Type: Part-time
• Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
