Job Description

We are looking for a freelance Editor to manage the delivery of the RCR Newsletter under a contract for services arrangement. The Editor will play a pivotal role in shaping the content of the RCR Newsletter, our quarterly member magazine. Working closely with the Managing Editor and supported by an Editorial Board, the contractor will be responsible for commissioning news and feature articles from external authors, writing engaging features and news sourcing and writing for the magazine. The Editor will also help to develop a comprehensive flat plan for four issues per year, demonstrating a keen understanding of the healthcare sector and our members’ interests, as well as championing our specialties of radiology and oncology. The time commitment required for the contract is five days per month, and the contract for services will initially be in place for one year, with the option to extend should both parties wish to do so.

Requirements

• Evidence of experience in editing a magazine or newsletter
• Significant experience as a journalist, particularly as a feature writer
• Experience of communicating effectively with external stakeholders
• Extensive knowledge of the healthcare sector
• Experience of building effective networks and liaising and working collaboratively with colleagues
