Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and have a passion for comics and pop culture? If so, we want you to join our Marketing team at Dark Horse Comics as a Social Media Associate! At Dark Horse Comics, we leverage social media to connect with our audience and community. It serves as a vital hub for sharing news and information, while also allowing us to build meaningful connections with our community.

Position Objective

The Social Media Associate will support the Marketing team at Dark Horse Comics with responsibilities related (but not limited) to: professional customer service, social media planning, posting, and scheduling. The Social Media Associate will work closely with the VP of Marketing, Social Media Manager, and Publicity team to support and share new releases and news for the company. This position will also field general administrative office duties for the marketing team as assigned. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills. It requires working quickly while maintaining exceptional attention to detail, in an environment of strict deadlines and frequent interruptions. This is a temporary (90 days), part-time position offering $18/hour with approximately 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent relevant work experience and/or working toward a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be proactive and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and all major social media platforms. Apple/Mac OS experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with and enthusiasm for comics, book publishing, and pop culture is preferred.
