Job Description

Title: Sr Java Developer

Location: Montreal, CA (3 days in office is a must)

This is a senior developer position for the Reference Data platform. You will be required to be a technologist with a solid command of distributed development tools and tech-stack, primarily Java and Java-based web development, Angular, databases, and frameworks for enterprise system development. You will own the development of a new platform according to established best practices, adhering to the standards set by the group while maintaining a diligent focus on Usability, Cloud Adoption, and User Experience. The role involves broad engagement with users across the globe to create an effective user interface for our onboarding and regulatory platform. You will participate in every facet of software development, from requirement analysis and design to development and continuous improvement of agile development practices.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong technology background with advanced knowledge of Java and Java-based technology stack.
• At least 5 years of hands-on Java EE and Core Java experience with strong leadership qualities.
• Experience with web service development, REST, and Services Oriented Architecture.
• Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Design Patterns, Architecture, and Application Integration.
• Proficient in Databases, including Design and SQL.
• Strong experience with development frameworks and automated testing tools such as Spring, JUnit, BDD, etc.
• Experience with Unix/Linux.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple groups, including offshore development and QA teams, vendors, and support teams.
• Strong development skills with the ability to understand technical design and translate it into workable solutions.
• Familiarity with working in a large team environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies to meet business requirements.
• Strong problem-solving background in system integration, infrastructure debugging, or system administration.

Good to Have Skills:

• Web UI JavaScript Framework - Angular.
• Distributed Caching.
• NoSQL - Mongo.
• Big Data Technology Experience - Hadoop, Apache Spark, Elastic Search.
• Experience with data management through vendor feeds.
