If You’re Reading This… – Animated Short Film

This is a registered short film screenplay (WGA) that explores the silent mental health struggles people face in high-pressure work environments. The story centers around a high-performing office worker who returns from a mental health day calm—but unnervingly so. During a team meeting, he calmly opens up about his emotional exhaustion… then takes his own life in front of his stunned coworkers. The aftermath reveals a scheduled email sent posthumously, urging others to be human, speak up, and break the cycle of silence. The final scene shows the company posting his job within 24 hours.

The short is 6–7 minutes long and will be visually minimal but emotionally powerful—focusing on subtle expressions, atmosphere, and symbolic transitions. Think If Anything Happens I Love You meets The Windshield Wiper in an office setting.

What I Need:
I’m looking for a passionate 2D animator or motion artist who can help bring this short to life with a soft, minimalist, emotionally-driven style. I’ll provide the WGA-registered script, a detailed storyboard, concept art, and reference material. You’ll animate one full sequence OR work with me to animate the entire short, depending on timeline and bandwidth.

This is a passion project with festival submission goals (including Oscar-qualifying ones). Full animation credit and portfolio use are included. You’ll be credited as Lead Animator or Animation Director depending on scope.
