Job Description

KPIX is looking for a highly talented part-time video editor with a passion for news and experience using non-linear editing equipment. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced television news environment and must be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Familiarity with the Grass Valley Edius editing system is preferred. The editor must be a creative and poised team player who can juggle multiple projects at once and be flexible with their work schedule, being willing to work nights, overnights, and weekends as needed. A demo reel demonstrating the candidate’s abilities is required, and ENG will also be part of the regular duties.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced television news environment.
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with the Grass Valley Edius editing system (preferred).
• Creative and poised team player who can juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexible work schedule, willing to work nights, overnights, and weekends as needed.
• Links to demo reel demonstrating abilities required.
