Job Description

Change.org is searching for a Social Media Specialist (6 month contract) to bring multi-channel social media expertise, help the UK team develop relationships with influencers, and create dynamic content that drives brand affinity for Change.org. You will report to our Head of UK Communications and will be a key member of our Marketing and Communications team. Your responsibilities will include developing creative content for social media platforms, establishing relationships with influencers to amplify Change.org content, staying updated on compelling issues and trends, utilizing metrics for content performance analysis, and managing the social content calendar. This is a 24-hour work week with the expectation of working 4-5 days per week.

Change.org is a public benefit company and the world’s largest social change platform with 100 million users. The platform enables users to win campaigns for change once every hour. From mobilizing over 5 million people for the Amazon fires to advocating for Racial Justice in the US, Change.org has been a driving force behind many significant movements and victories.

Requirements

The most important core competencies for the role are:

  • Strong social media experience including impactful visual and video content creation, excellent writing skills, influencer engagement, and developing social media strategies that enhance followership.
  • Proven track record of engaging audiences across platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram.
  • Ability to build relationships with influencers to meet Change.org’s engagement goals.
  • Good understanding of the UK news landscape related to social justice, economic, political, and environmental issues.
  • Willingness to support policy-compliant campaigns, even if they differ from personal beliefs.

Target experience includes:

  • At least 3 years in a social media role, preferably within media, charity, or campaign organizations.
  • Strong on-camera presence.
  • Rapid video editing skills.

Additional Information

This is a 24-hour per week contract role based in the United Kingdom. Compensation for this role is set at £31.80 an hour. The evaluation process consists of an initial interview, a timed take-home assessment, a team interview, and a final interview.
