Lula and The Big Race

Illustrator is needed in United States.

I am looking for a U.S-based illustrator to create 14 hand-drawn color spreads, including a cover and an epilogue page, for my children’s book titled “Lula and The Big Race.” I appreciate the classic style of EH Shepherd, particularly the watercolor and pen and ink approach. This is a personal project with immediate work available. The illustrator can work remotely anywhere in US but would ideally be based on the East Coast of the U.S., preferably in Virginia.

Since I have a book designer already, all the scenes are developed and ready for art. As the illustrator, you would be free to focus on the artwork.

I’m open to recommendations if you have particular styles in mind that align with the project’s vision. I prefer simple sketches with texture. Love the look for white space within the brush or pencil stroke.
