Job Description

Forbes is seeking a Temporary Associate Video Editor to support project producers. This is a temporary assignment reporting to the Creative Director. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week in the Jersey City office.

Responsibilities

• Create 5-15 quick-turn videos daily using Wochit and/or the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Coordinate with project producers, gather scripts, assets, and record voiceovers as needed.
• Sound mixing on all owned edits.
• Color correction on all owned edits per specifications of the Creative Director of Video.
• Deliver and/or upload final video assets as directed by the supervising Producer.
• Maintain quality, style, and aesthetic standards as directed by the Executive Producer (EP) and Creative Director of Video.
• Innovate and experiment with new editing techniques to enhance Forbes Video quality and style.
• Update and place motion graphics packages.
• Maintain journalistic and brand standards set by Forbes Media in all content.
• Abide by all media management standards as directed by EP, Video.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in video production in digital publishing, production company, or agency/brand setting.
• Fast video editor with strong strategic thinking skills to manage multiple projects.
• Strong editorial judgment with an understanding of news, politics, business, and pop culture.
• Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (focus on Premiere Pro and Photoshop).
• Ability to collaborate with all project stakeholders.
• Capable of conceiving and executing a clear creative and narrative vision.
• Willingness to take constructive critiques and reach consensus on team-based projects.
• Voiceover talent is a significant plus.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this role is $30.00 - $30.00.
