Job Description

The Katered Co. is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to support our creative team on a project-by-project basis. This 1099 role requires a fast, detail-oriented designer who can consistently deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Portfolio required to be considered (share a link with 5–10 recent, relevant projects and brief context).
• Experience creating assets for email (Klaviyo/Mailchimp) and understanding of major ad platform specs (Meta, TikTok, Google, LinkedIn, Pinterest).
• Advanced technical skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and proficiency in Figma.
• 3–5+ years professional design experience (or demonstrably equivalent freelance/agency work).
• Mastery of typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and brand systems; able to extend and interpret brand guidelines.
• Production-ready file prep for print & digital (bleeds, color profiles, dielines, asset exports, web/social specs).
• Proven ability to turn around projects within 48 hours while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Detail-obsessed QA: pixel-perfect exports, clean file naming, version control, organized handoffs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; receptive to feedback and quick, thoughtful iteration.
• Familiarity with accessibility fundamentals (contrast ratios, legible type, alt text practices).
• Reliable setup: your own hardware, software licenses, and high-speed internet.
• Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor, invoice monthly, and sign an NDA/contractor agreement.
• Availability for occasional check-ins during U.S. Pacific Time business hours.
