Job Description
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce is seeking a Temporary Social Media Specialist to support the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO). The role involves developing and managing digital communication strategies to inform, engage, and serve the public. Responsibilities include creating accessible content across various platforms, monitoring public engagement, tracking analytics, collaborating with internal teams and external organizations, and maintaining consistency in branding and messaging.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Must have 2 years of professional experience in social media management, either with an advertising/marketing firm or for a company/organization.
- Must have experience with paid social media ads, content, and building custom audiences.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
- Ability to plan and manage daily tasks effectively.
- Self-starter, proactive with good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Experience using social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite).
- Knowledge of graphic design, video editing, or digital storytelling tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and present social media results, educating others based on data.
- Capability to analyze paid social media campaign data in real-time.
- Basic photography and video recording skills for social media, with ability to capture compelling visuals.
Additional Information
This position is part-time, temporary, and compensated at a rate of $25 - $35 per hour, with a maximum of 30 hours per week, not to exceed 999 hours in a year. The role does not include benefits and will not constitute employment with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM on October 8, 2025.
