Job Description

Looking for a talented person that can design and post marketing communications. This person will multitask and should have a good amount of time for us daily - typically 9 am to 1 pm PST (non-exclusively) and do good work to help make our event and sales-oriented businesses successful. We seek a designer experienced with working with our tools: Klaviyo, Shopify, Shopify Mail, and Mail Chimp, as we have an immediate need and no time for a learning curve.

The role involves designing event pages, design assets, building calls to action, and ensuring a good customer experience. You will also be responsible for designing brochures, postcards, and ordering them from printer services.

We have had the same organized, hard-working, and efficient designer for 5 years, who has currently fallen ill. We need someone quickly to give her time to heal, as both designers will be part-time. Please do not apply if you are not a strong and well-informed designer with Shopify experience.

We are a highly structured and diverse business. The ideal candidate will make us part of their portfolio while having enough bandwidth to work with us during our ideal work windows and beyond. Designers looking for another client will find this position ideal.

You will be tasked with posting items efficiently, researching details, and maintaining accuracy to the penny. The workload may vary, seeing about 10-20 hours per week. This must be a single hire—no agencies please. You must live in the USA and respond quickly to our WhatsApp messages.

The ideal candidate should have their own office, computer, design tools, and invoice us on a 10-99 basis, learning about our work patterns and adjusting to our needs. Improvements to our business practices are appreciated. We seek a designer who values speed, accuracy, efficiency, and trust, as we are a small dynamic business that leads classes, trips, experiences, and sells wine on our Shopify stores.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Shopify (we unfortunately cannot afford the time to train here)
• Portfolio of graphic designs showing your ability (no illustrations please)
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Excellent communication skills & spelling
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field is a plus (but not required)
• Strong command of proper English and spelling is a must.
• Knowledge of Los Angeles and food and wine are both a plus (but not required)

Additional Information

Our clients include wineries, restaurants, and wine shops, as well as anyone that loves premium wine events. While the work is remote, this designer is part of a team and needs to be a good team player. Ideally, the candidate can attend a team meeting on occasional Tuesdays at 12:15 PM for 30-45 mins and be present.

This position is a 10-99 role and does not offer benefits at this time. Job type: Part-time.

Pay starts at $40 per hour, with long-term intentions to review wages over time. If $40 is not sufficient for you, please do not apply. Command of the English language is critical, especially as the owner has many shortcomings and seeks strength in hiring.
